Hey guys,This is something i was just curious about. The t5 needs that 1" spacer plate because the input shaft is one inch longer correct? But which part on the input shaft is 1" longer, the part with the teeth or the part that goes into the pilot bushing. IF its the part that goes into the pilot bushing couldnt that just be cut at home with the proper tools. It would be better that buying a $200 spacer plate and in the money to cut down your drive shaft 1" as well. Im considering about putting a t5 in since i keep running into them dirt cheap, seems like everyone has one for under $100. And if i could just cut the shaft down myself, it wouldnt be too bad, but if i need like $300-400 to just install it, i rather stick to my manual 3 speed and wait for a 4 speed. Thanks guys, I might pick one up this weekend. ------------------ Under Construction 66 Coupe 289 V8 - 600cfm Holley - Tri-Y Headers - Flowmaster 2.5 dual exaust - Centerforce Dual Friction

thanks guys,Seems like there are no shortcuts to installing a T5, I'll probably buy one or 2 for furture use the next time i see one. If it isnt done right, its not worth doing at all.
