At the MP Carshow I talked to the guy that owned the bright green '71-'73 Mach 1 and he started the car for me. The engine idles (and wobbles) almost violently but was VERY VERY quiet at 500RPM idle. He was running headers w/straight pipes and small bonsai mufflers at the rear.

My car idles in park at 1000-1100rpm and idles in drive between 700-800rpm and the engine is very loud (not the mufflers).

I believe it was aftermarket. His engine wobbled pretty nicely. I asked him what his 1/4 mile times were and he said he ran 12.6

I have a 302 street/strip motor.

It sounds like he has soft motor mounts. My Cleveland is on solid mounts and it doesn't "wobble".

Possibly, I was really wowed at the sound of his idle though. Very quiet, but LOUD when revved.

The 70 Mustang I had with 351c and 780 holley would idle up and own if I went to certain gas stations. But if I stayed away from those gas stations, would owuld idle very smoothly.

It just sounds like he has a decent cam.
