I am asking on behalf of a guy from fordmuscle. He's bidding on a nice looking 428CJ with a fresh rebuild(500 miles) but I told him I thought .060 over was a little scary for one of these engines. The engine is not cheap as you can imagine.Opinions please.

Lots of good FE information available at this website, either by questions or searchs.http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/74182 From what I have read, .040" is too much on some of the FE blocks. ------------------ Larry No fast Fords at this time but one fine cruising 96 F350 CC DRW Power Strokin diesel. If the block is already .060 over it isn't worth nearly as much. Sonic checking might prove it's OK... or junk.
