I am asking on behalf of a guy from fordmuscle.He's bidding on a nice looking 428CJ with a fresh rebuild(500 miles) but I told him I thought .060 over was a little scary for one of these engines.The engine is not cheap as you can imagine.Opinions please.

Lots of good FE information available at this website, either by questions or searchs.http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/74182 From what I have read, .040" is too much on some of the FE blocks. ------------------

If the block is already .060 over it isn't worth nearly as much. Sonic checking might prove it's OK... or junk.
