We went up to KK's brother's house last night and pulled the trans, and he took it apart for me. Here's what we found, bear with me, I dont know much about auto transmissions, so my parts descriptions might not be very easy to follow.First off, the Belville spring was broke (one tooth was gone, 3 others were cracked badly), the piston was slightly cocked in the drum, the seal was shot, the clutches were slightly burnt, and the low gear planetery had a spacer washer that was gone, and the one of the small gears on the cluster was rubbing on the "carrier"[?]. That last part was the part I dont know the "real names" for. I hope everyone understood. He had all the parts required to put it back together including new clutches and steels. After he put it all back together, we installed it back in the car, fired it up, and ran it back on the trailer and came home. That was real cool of him to offer his garage to pull the trans, and for him to offer to go thru the trans for me. I even learned something last night about c4 transmissions. Even though he doesnt read this board, Thanks Dave!

That's super cool Rob!! It's always very cool to learn something new especially when it's regarding your favorite hobby. SteveW walked me through the entire process of rebuilding an 8" 3.55 trac-loc and I can't thank him enough for the help!!
