Finally got the coupe in the 6's last night. Put a K&N filter on and jetted it down a little bit and it really responded.60' 1.502 1/8 6.990 mph 98.45 2nd run 60' 1.538 1/8 6.989 mph 98.67 3rd run 60' 1.501 1/8 6.957 mph 98.78 Ended up with 80/87 jets in the 850. Thanks to all who have helped on here. Adding the 80lbs in trunk has really helped with the 60 ft times. Been real consistent since I added it. ------------------ James 67 Coupe 393W, 4 Speed, 7.07 @ 98MPH 1/8 1.52 60' '66 Fairlane 500XL Daily Driver

Isn't it suprising what a little properly placed ballast will do. Kinda shoots the whole theory of "lighter is always better" right in the foot. Congrats on getting into the 6's. (edit: ok, so may mind thinks stuff up a whole bunch faster than my fingers can type it and I end up leaving words out. ) [This message has been edited by kid vishus (edited 10-19-2002).]

That's a fact! That was a 10.9something run, guaranteed. Good job. What was the d/a? Our combo's are pretty close we run a 850 on a 408W w/ 3.89 gears. And 75#s of ballast in front of the pass. tail light. SteveW

Yeah, there's a 6.5 in there. Previous time out it was jetted 83/90, I brought it down to 83/87 and it picked up, then Fri. night I brought the front down to 80 and it picked up again. ------------------ James 67 Coupe 393W, 4 Speed, 7.07 @ 98MPH 1/8 1.52 60' '66 Fairlane 500XL Daily Driver

I really don't know what it was Steve. The temp was about 60-65, humidity was about the same and the pressure was around 30.00 when I left the house. James

Yeah, it helped a lot. My 60' times were all over the place. Now it's picking the front tires up on every pass. Kinda cool James
