These cams have the same specs 230 @50 & 512 lift. I was wondering if there would be a performance difference between them since they are identical except for the advertised duration

Look at the valve timing specs at .050 (intake opens at XX BTDC etc...). This may show some differences. Also try to get the duration figures at .200
One cam may have a much more aggressive opening ramp and that should show up at the .200 figures.
Cam companies go to some length to keep their products mysterious.
And maybe the two cams are exactly the same.
