At the NHRA Craftsman nationals this past weekend I had the opportunity to speak with the NEW director of motorsports. He came to our pit area to introduce himself and try to resurrect our relationship. One of the areas of discussion was intake manifolds and in particular the 351C Strip Dominator. It will be out soon and will probably not be a Holley product as the Weiand division is about sold to a very large competitor. Holley is in deep financial trouble and has to downsize to survive if it can. If the sale is approved expect to see it n the market before October 15th. You heard it here first.
PS, if anyone calls Holley, don't expect to get much information as over 60% of the knowledgeable staff has either been terminated or quit. The rest are told to say NOTHING that they cannot answer. They are existing day to day. To give you an idea of how bad it really is, the former director of motorsports is now the account exec for Jegs, Summit, Herbert etc. He basically handles all of the warrantee for those mega ware houses. How's that for a step backwards. At least he still has a job.

That's good to know. I still want one. I have a used one spotted, but I've been holding out for a new one. I don't suppose you know the cost of a new one?

So who did Weiand get sold to?? Edelbrock? That's about the largest competitor of Weiand I can think of.

I guess that Holley bit off more than they could chew when they bought every company in sight.....

Too bad that all those people lost their jobs, but I have a feeling that a bunch will find jobs waiting for them at other performance aftermarket companies that need their expertise.

Great news on the SD Alex, been a long time coming. Funny, when I talked to the Holley rep at the Matco Supernationals, he just gave me a very blank look about the SD for a Cleveland...guess it was a big secret.

I got mine!

Problem is, it is attached to an expensive racecar.
