Top loader near 500 HP, T-5 anything over 350 is pushing it. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Almost afraid to ask... how about a T-10? Hasn't broke yet (no slicks yet either), but it'll have a toploader before I take this car to the track.

So I guess that the T5 will not hold up to the 351 stroker I'm thinking of. It would be nice to have that 5th gear. quote: Originally posted by Moneymaker: Top loader near 500 HP, T-5 anything over 350 is pushing it.

A T5 will live behine a 600" Boss 429 if you drive like an old lady (tho not Shirley Muldowney!)You can also bust one with a mild 302. Driving style determines most of it,but i still wouldn't use a T5 behind any 351.

I have the Ford Racing Z-spec T-5 behind my 351, no problems so far, and I do rip on it pretty hard sometimes, but my car is a tire frying beast, if I get some sticky tires it may be a parts breaker.------------------ Stuart MCA #48902 M&M #1091 67 stang 5 speed, 351W, Edelbrock Performer RPM package Artificial Intelligence is no replacement for Natural Stupidity. http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/ccode67.html

I'd say a T-5 can handlequite a bit of horsepower, as long as you always run street tires and never launch the car. If you plan on drag racing, ever, don't get one ------------------ -Charlie Ping 1970 Maverick Grabber [email protected] with AC and overdrive. http://www.maverickgrabber.com

I always liked the Dough Nash transmissions, but they are expensive even when used! I think Richmond now makes it. It can handle 450 foot pounds of torque. Whats a T-56?
