My dad has a 72 Mustang that has a 302 in it. He has owned the car since 1976. Well it has been parked for about 4 years now, thinking about getting it out and turning it into a bracket car. Was wondering what all was involved in swapping a 460 into it?

Since a 429 was offered in that car from the factory, I would think it would be a pretty straight forward swap. You should be able to get motor mounts for it, and headers without buying expensive swap parts. It would probably need a bigger radiator, and the front springs might need changed, but more than likely not if it is going to be bracket raced. I'm sure the folks that are more informed than me will come along soon and le you know for sure what will need done.

The only headers that I knew of were the Hooker Super Comps, which makes them not cheap. I found a used set for $100 but this was back in the early 90's when I built one. The swap is very easy, the hardest part for me was putting the headers on (very tight doesn't describe it), go for it and have fun with all that torque
