I know this has been discussed before but can't quite get a handle on it. How does lobe seperation affect a cam and it's performance. Also have heard that you shouldn't go below 110 for stock heads but other say 108 & 106 is okay, which is true?

Probably depends on the cylinder head. I've always like 108 regardless. Also nitrous guys like to run wider seperation, but you talk to cam and nitrous companies and they typically tell you to run what the motor likes NA then spray that combo. The rule of thumb is wider seperation gives better idling and more top-end power (usually at the very top of the power band where it is of no use) while tighter separation gives lopier idling and better midrange.------------------ 1968 Mustang,Clevor,C4 1969 Torino 351C 4spd 1978 F150 460 C6 1978 F150 351W C6
