Now after talking to Comp, Crane, Mallory, and Holley. Had Mallory check the Distributor, it checked out fine 24 deg all in at 3000. Installing a Holley Blue pump and regulator. Found that I was pulling a vacuum on the unvented fuel tank, tank is now vented. I'm figuring that I have 1 or 2 bad lifters. Crane and Comp assured me that the Crane H-298 cam and Comp 950 springs are a good combo and should pull 6500 no problem. Both reps said that hyd.lifters have been causing some problems. Pulled the Edelbrock RPM and pulled the timing gear(I had installed 2 deg retarded not sure why, strange things happen at 2:00 in the morning, must have had a reason, just can't rememeber it now.)Timing gear reset to 0. Every thing looks great under the intake the Lifters are free in the bores. I have a new set of Crane 99281 lifters to install. I'm holding now till I find out how to check the lifers that I removed. Ahh how do I check the Lifters? I plan on setting up the Erson Rockers (1/2 turn in) while the Intake is off. then removing them and assemble the intake and reinstall the adjusted rocker assemblies. This is a new rebuild Less than 200 miles.

Glen,

The way to check the lifters is,

Using a pushrod try to compress them, if they give at all then they aren't solids and should be replaced.

Good luck anyway, I'm sure you'll get it.

BTW how are we looking for Fallon?

Nancy is not kicking too hard. I think her leg is getting tired.
Looks like a go.
