has anyone done a dyno on an h pipe and then on just straight pipes,or can someone tell me the difference between the two. i work part time at my buddies muffler shop and i can bend my own straight pipes and weld in the o2 bungs for about $25, if i didnt have to put the cross pipe on, it would be a much easier job.

On my 302 Fairmont, back when it only ran low 14`s, with the C4, I have 1 1/2" Heddman full length headers, that only had 2 1/2" pipe running from the collectors to the mufflers (stock 88 Mustang 5.0 mufflers, no cats). I ran it for quite a while like this, then I added a section of 2 1/2" pipe from side to side, under the tailhousing. Back to the strip, it did not show any improvment or negative results, ran the same, but did sound a tad nicer. Now this is not to say that every car will respond similarly, but it do anything for this car, which is fairly mild. It DID make pulling the trans much harder though.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker under construction, 302 5 speed
