I am finishing up my 331 roller motor and having some trouble with the setup on my pulleys. I had it balanced it with a Fluidamper and can't seem to find a pulley set to align with it. I measured the distance from the oil pan to the front face of the fluidamper and it is sticking out 1/2" further than a small 289 damper does. I checked a early 302 damper and it seems to be 1/2" wider than the fluidamper. None of the pulley and bracket sets that I have laying around will match. Looks like I'm gonna need SBF crank pulley that is approx. 1/2" shorter than the standard 289 2 brrl crank pulley..Any ideas?? Anyone ever had a steel pulley shortened or purchased a crank pulley shrinker? Dan

Hey Dan. Have you contacted Fuidyne to see if they reccomend anything? Usually the manufacturer will design their balancers with certain pulley sets in mind. Good Luck!

I might have to do that. A little bending here, a little spacing there..... I've spent hours trying to come up with a pulley that will work.

I get close by using a '69 4-hole 302 crank pulley with the other '66 289 pulleys and brackets. Does anyone sell shims for crank pulleys? thnks, Dan
