I have a 65 289 that I want to put victor jr heads and intake on. but the heads come set up for a hydrolic roller cam or a mechanical roller cam. what would be a good driver low maintenance cam?

Tell me more about your combo and if you are spraying it or naturally aspirated.

I went hyro and it is low maintenance. I've heard that the solid rollers aren't bad either. I have the Vic. Jr. as well.

I don't know how much hp... If I had to guess I would say my motor is around 425hp at the flywheel. I will get it on a dyno eventually I just don't have much time.My motor is a 302/342 roller. The cam is 238/248 .543/.571. 10.5-1 with TFS Street Heat heads. Fueled by the early 4bbl Holley Projection. It's not set up for the 1/4 with only a 3.0 rear but it has run 13.35 at 105.67. The 60' was slow at 2.25. Since then the mph has gone to 106.5 and there is still more there. I think I will get it as low as 12.9-13.1 at 108-110 with tuning but we'll see. quote: Originally posted by 2BAD6568s: i will have a 600 holley dp. 10:1 compression About how many horsepower do you have jaazzy? I would sugesst a Lunati 51012 (544-560, 232-242@ .050, and a 112lsa). Good ramp profiles with nice major and minor intensity sections on the lobes and will spend what I call "quality time" under the curve. If you ever do go to a nitrous set-up on the cam, this profile will like it alot as well. Also, there is the tried and true E303 cam, which is very under-rated. Got a street car running 6.90's through the 1/8th with a 306 and 150 shot on radial tires (not drag radials). My choice of the two though would be the Lunati.

For a street strip setup I like the Weiand Stealth manifold.
