Just a little note to all who are planning a cam change in the near future. All flat face and hydraulic roller lifters are in very short supply. Johnson Tappet company, the largest supplier(manufacturer) of lifters has been shut down. Therefore, Comp, Isky, Crane, Lunati, Erson, Bullit, etc. ,etc, are all OUT OF LIFTERS! The other prime lifter companies such as Standardine, and Eaton have stepped up production, but have also taken a profit motivational advantage of the situation. They have raised the prices to the MOON! So, don't be shocked if a) you can't get any lifters, or b) when you can they are twice as high as they were a month ago. We are about out of our old price stock of Comp and Crane product. We have already recieved new price sheets specifically for lifters that reflect new part numbers and of course new pricing. I just thought that you all should know. PS, all the stock we have left in flat surface lifters are one set of Comp hydraulics, one set of Lunati solids, one set of OEM FoMoCo D1ZZ-6500-A solids. We have plenty of solid rollers, and ZERO hydraulic rollers. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl [This message has been edited by Moneymaker (edited 07-02-2002).]

I bought a custom grind cam/lifters directly from Comp on June 10, and when the package came, it didn't have any lifters (they were back ordered)... After calling about it, Comp speculated they would get some lifters around mid July. I called around the parts houses, and nobody had them. I finally started asking for other brands, and ended up with a set of Crane solid lifters for around $84 through Summit. This was a couple weeks ago, so it's hard to say what it's like now. I hope the lifters and cam are good, because Comp probably won't warranty the cam if something happens. I hope the situation gets better... It's actually not hard to say what it's like now at all. NOBODY HAS ANY LIFTERS! I am a distributor for Comp, Crane, and Erson cams amd products. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY!They will all have some soon, mostly flat face hydraulic, and they will be damn near double the price. Lunati had some because they are so low in the pecking order that very little of their produts are sold, but that's about dried up. I bought what I could (what they would sell me) to tied me over a bit. Isky, Crower, Bullit, FRPP, Sealed Power, Elgin, Pioneer, etc. I tried everyone who would sell us at WD. I had WD's calling me looking to buy from us at JOBBER! I was trying to let you all know that there is a problem and you might have trouble getting lifters. Johnson's situation had to do with taxes I hear. They did not pay with holding among others. That is why the USG shut them down. Later! Not as tight as they were Steve. You can now get them in limited quantities and you will pay about double from what they were a year ago. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA/MCA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
