What cyl # normally runs the leanest? Richest? I'm thinking about putting an EGT setup on my car to tune the carb/timing for the weather. It makes sense to put it on the leanest cylinder, but the temp meter also has two inputs. Thought about putting the other probe on the richest cylinder then I could stagger jet to bring them closer together. This is for my 383W, Victor Jr intake and Windsor Sr iron heads, both port matched to a Fel-Pro 1262 gasket. Thanks, David Cole

As a rule, all Windsors run leaner in cylinders 4 and 8. Especially with todays crop of 360 intakes. We have our EGT probes in #4 header tube David. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl

I also have a lean problem with #4 & #8. 351W Victor jr. intake. More so with #4. I have also heard that the GT40 intake (manifold *edit*) runs lean in the same cylinders.... [This message has been edited by Buster (edited 06-19-2002).]

Reckon which cylinder runs leanest ona BBF with a tunnel ram and hat set up for Alky? I used to always run my EGT in the #1 cylinder but if this is wrong then I'd like to know. I havent ordered my headers yet. Is it #4 or 8 also ? Would also like to know WHY?? Jerry
