I have a 86-91 302 HO rebuilt motor that I am going to put in my 66.I replaced the cam with a B-303 now I`m going to put heads on.I bought a pair of heads that are 66-CDOE, been ported and polished,3 angle valve seat cut,194 intake,160 exhause valves and 54 combustion chambers.I called a parts store and they want 83.00 plus tax on some head gaskets. Is that about right. Also what year of head gaskets would I use since the heads are 66 and the motor is 86-91 Thanks,Tony

I did just the opposite. I put '87 heads on a '68 block. There is a mis match in the steam holes between the block and the heads. I drilled the block to match but that is not nessasary. The gaskets I used were Fel-pro PermaTorque/Blues #10111. These have a .039 compressed thickness which is less that the standard Fel-Pros. This should be better for quench. They are 31.95 each in the Summit catalog. These should work fine for you.
