I just received my new roller cam from CompCams today after waiting 3 weeks for it to arrive and it has rust on a lot of the machined surfaces.. The machined surfaces are a lot rougher than the cams I have purchased from Reed and Lunati. What gives?
I am not impressed with their quality control!!!
Should I polish it or send it back?

I would call them and voice my concerns and dis-satisfaction to them, but in a polite manner and see if they would correct the problem. Maybe you just got a bad one that got thru the inspection process.

I agree with kid... when I've gone in guns blazing, I've usually regretted it. If after 'polite concers' they blow you off, then let them have it, but I can't see Comp doing that; they know better. Sounds like one that slipped through the cracks

Comp is gonna want that cam back so they can beat whomever sent it out that way, with it. They are a great company and will work with you.

I finally found time to call CompCams helpline today and talked to some very nice and honest people. They said they would ship out another "hand picked" cam immediately! All they asked me was, what was wrong with the cam and then they transfered me to shipping dept to get my address. Very good service dept.!

Agreed 100%. It sucks that you got a one-off oddball screw-up, but I'm glad to hear that they're making it right, and a in 'customer satisfaction first' manner.
