Anyone know what happens when a top fueler "puts out a cylinder"?Paul

I'm not a TF aficianado, but if "putting out" a cylinder is the same as dropping a cylinder, it's when it loses fire and basically pumps raw fuel out of it. I'm not familiar enough with nitro engines to know, technically, what causes this to happen, aside from the fact that they pump so much fuel through one of those engines during a pass it'd make your head swim...

Loss of fire {ignition} to cylinder. They operate at such extremes even dual plugs and monster mags have trouble lighting the fire at 8000rpm. If they're lucky it just pumps the charge out the exhaust, if not, it hydraulics the piston and blows everything apart. It was last situation that finally put Eddy Hill out of racing. The block split and slammed into the back of the cage injuring his spine.
