What heat range should a 302 roller block with 9:1 comp and X303 heads run? I currently have Autolite 104's, and the salesman mention they might be too cold. What do you think?

[edit] The engine came from the factory with 104's, so that's why I was running them.

I don't know Autolite part numbers or what year your heads are...
But, the 5.0's use AWSF44C, ASF52C and I think AWSF42's MotorCraft.... going by memory here.

I think the lowest heat range is an AWSF24C and the hottest is the AWSF54C.

The ASF22C are the lowest and the ASF52C the hottest. I don't think they make an ASF62C or a ASF12, not for sure. The AWSF44Cs have a shoulder at the bottom of the plug. The AWSF22C colder then the AWSF54C's being the hottest.

If they are the ASF style plugs, I have use in a setup like yours the ASF22C and 32s without any problems. If they are the AWSF44C style use the AWSF24C or 34. Same with the ASWF52s.
