have mallory comp electric at tank (110).should i try to add 130 GPH mechanical or will they fight each other.dont want to spend over 80.00.it drops to 3.5 or 4 on hard run (carb is 650 2 pump mech.)

i upgraded pickup tube in tank to 3/8 and i did test ussing origanal 5/16 line from pump output to carb.it flowed real close to barry grants flow test (one gal in 37 seconds for 12 second car)but i dont like seeing guage drop from 7.5 psi to 3.5 on hard pass.looking for cheap easy fix.maybe pump needs rebuild,been around for a while!
