You need to supply more information about the engine (size, compression, heads, intake, carb, headers), converter, car weight, gear, etc. You also need to include the maximum rpm you are comfortable with, as well as the intended usage of the vehicle.------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367 http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?220

Sounds like the cam you have is about right for turning 7k rpm. The 282S would make more midrange, but would be all done by around 6300 rpm in your 347. If you are needing more midrange, go with the smaller cam, otherwise, the 294S should make more power (as long as you've got the heads to support that rpm with your stroker) It's going to want to breathe, and will need a good set of heads to take advantage of that cam and rpm. If you don't have the heads, you're wasting your time with the big cam... about the time it decides to come alive, the heads will be all done. It won't be worth a sh*t at low rpm (because of the big cam) and it won't be worth beans up top (due to the restrictive heads)If you want to spin the thing 7k and have the heads to handle it, by all means, use the larger cam. It might be a little soggy at low rpm's with the 10:1 compression, but should still work well up top. It would benefit from 3" exhaust. If you want it to be quieter on the street, weld a set of header collector rings to the outlets of the 3" mufflers, then use header reducers to connect to the tailpipes. This way they can be removed for those 'special occasions'. Good Luck! ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367 http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?220
