i was putting on the cowl induction hood scoop on my car this weekend and i used rivets to secure it down, the problem is as i got to the front of the scoop it did not want to stay down so i could rivet it, it seems as if it wont flex down to the contour of the hood, i really dont know what to do i defenently dont want to leave it like this, is there any way i can apply something to the fiberglass to sofen it up so i can make it contour to the hood then rivet it down? please help me out and let me know what i can do to make this work thanks a lot

Where are our fiberglass experts? I'm not one of them, but would heat work? SteveW

How much of a gap is there? Depending on the thickness of the rivet flange you may be able to contour the scoop to the hood by sanding or grinding away part of the flange along each side to allow a better fit.Later, Mike ------------------ 66' Mustang 95' Lightning 65' Mustang

If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you've bunched it up as you riveted it. If it's U shaped, you probably should have started in the front and worked your way back.------------------

Thats what I was thinking too.But that dose not help thumpin cat now.Unless you want to remove all the rivets. And start from the front and work your way back.Thats what I'd do. SCOOP

YEP! You have to start from the front and let it spread gradually for the contour of the hood. They're a real pain. BS
