Do any of you know if a "transverse" style muffler is more restrictive than a normal pair of mufflers?
For example is using an edelbrock RPM series transverse muffler more restrictive than two normal mufflers?

Yes, they are. That's why Ford dropped the transverse mufflers in '70.
