How do you guys store and buy your race gas? Do you buy it in 55 gallon drums, or at the track. How much do you pay, etc. The new 408w for Melissa's stang is gonna have 11.7-1 compression ratio and we're gonna need some fuel at home to spike the pump gas with. I've got a 55 gallon drum of 100 octane, but it's about gone. I'm debating filling it with 110+ and spiking the 92 pump gas, but if you've got any suggestions I'm all ears. SteveW

I buy it by the 55 gallon drum. I used to buy 10-15 gallons at a time, but it got to be a hassle going to get it. Plus it's cheaper by the drum.My track charges $4.50 per gallon for Sunoco Std (purple). I can get a 55 gallon drum (my drum) for $200. Last season I swapped to Phillips 66. Their B-32 race gas, same specs as the Sunoco or VP C-12 (VP is $260+ drum deposit). The B-32 costs me $190 and performs the same. I keep the drum in my shop which is detached from the house by 100 feet. The drum stays by itself in the corner next to the rollup door. It's as far away from the workbench and sparks as it can get and next to the door for venting when I fill my fuel jugs. BTW, I buy mine from the guy that supplies the local dirt tracks. He sells so much in bulk that he is willing to sell for less due to his volume. He carries about 3 kinds of race gas + alky. Later, David Cole

Steve, Since you are from sunny California, before buying bulk you might want to check with local authoritys on safety regulations and storage. Like fire proof storage cabinets, EPA and all those other initials. Mike

Boy, that's no joke. If you belong to an ASSociation, might want to check with them too.

hey the EPA on Uranus.....thats where they belong. hey, my radiator just puked in the driveway and we wouldnt want a spotted whale getting in that. my glock might not be bio-degradeable! we really need more funding and government agencies like that to suck up tax money and take away our freedom. just my (and almost everyone else with a brain) opinion. hey steve, when you are done with the drum, throw it in the ocean for me.------------------ 67 coupe, 650dp and rpm intake on 5.0 with afr 165 heads, 4 speed, 4.11's.....best so far is [email protected] in 1/8 mile with 1.79 60ft. time.
