Rear Gears, I want em' good quality and Inexpensive!A lot of people have been complaining about the obvious choice "Richmond" wich I was going to go with, till I heard all the complaints. What brand gears should I buy? Summit? Richmond? US Gear? Yukon? FMS? National Drivetrain? Zoom? What do you guys think and why?

I have used Richmond, Zoom, and US Gear. I like the Richmonds the best. The US Gear was good too, but I prefer Richmonds. Zoom is junk.

Most of the people that buy Pro gears dont need them, and when they wear out quicker than a normal gear, they think the gear is defective. The gears arent heat treated the same, while that makes them more capable of absorbing high shock loads and not breaking, it also makes them wear out a lot faster. I run Richmond pro gears in my racecar and have never had a quality, or product defect related failure. The only thing that has happened with them is they either wear out, or like the last one did, it broke 3 teeth off the pinion and that was the result of an improper set-up. US Gear makes a good gear, but there is a reason NASCAR and the pro rank racers (pro stock, pro mods, etc)run Richmond, cuss they are the best on the market. Heh, I just ordered the Summit brand gears...who the hell knows what brand they are? I, asked I got the reply. "They are made buy the "other" major gear manufacturer we carry, we sell them cheaper because they don't have to pay to advertise" So yeah, they could be Richmond, or Superior, they could be anything? Thanks for your help, my fingers are crossed they will be good.....I hope!

Oh, I want my cake AND icecream and eat it too! My car will handle and brake like an F-1 racer, accelerate like a topfuel dragster, get 50 MPG with A/C on full blast, while playing DVD's with a world class champion stereo system, while simutaniosly holding 50 beer cups and 50 super models, it will have electric everything including a licorice dispenser!
