It was 70 degrees here in Iowa yesterday so I decided to try the 850. I made three runs with the g tech performance computer to get a top horsepower reading. I left the g tech on and calibrated and changed to the 850. The 850 was out of the box with 78 jets front and back. I did change the power valves and added jet extensions. The run showed an increase of 22 horsepower (rear wheels). I will be taking to a chassis dyno this spring to dial in better but this is promising. The engine is a 428 10.6 compression, comp cams 292 H cam with 244/244 @ .050 .560/.560 lift, Blue thunder intake, tri y headers, roller rockers. Thanks to those who offered the 850 advice.

I was told to install the tri y's for fit and performance. They are ceramic coated and I guess a compromise. I ran best of 12.6 @ 107 last year. Went with carb, rancho shocks and changing from 3.91 gears to 4.11 this year. I'll let you know how it turns out.Maybe I should have gone solid roller. I do drive to car shows and cruise nights and only race two or three times a year so there are compromises.

On a BBF FE fit maybe but, performance no way. Still a scoche better than CJ exhaust manifolds but no Hooker 4 tube SC's. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 US Class Nationals link

I'm guessing the move to 4.11 gears is correct? I know it is only 200 rpm difference but I thought it would help launch. I do have a wide ratio top loader so the first gear is pretty low.

4.30 would be better but at least you are going in the right direction. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator/ non 65-66 Mustang owner sensitivity co-ordinator and 69-70 a$$ kicker NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 US Class Nationals link
