Explain what a Daytona pinion support is? Is it a bigger bearing? For a 400 HP street car is this a part to consider? Are Aluminum bearing supports strong enough for prolonged street use? I have read they are for drag racing only and not for continuous use? Thanks for any info as always

Does anyone know if you can use an aluminum pinion support on a street car? If so how long will it last?

You might consider this nodular iron support from Mark Williams... http://emporium.markwilliams.com/prodinfo.asp?prodid=1710 I run one of their aluminum supports and would have no problems using it in a street app. It's seen over 20 years of racing duty in my race car with no problems.....back then, they were making the supports out of 6061-T6....don't know what the new ones are made out of. Good luck!

I think the warnings I have read are for big bearing (bigger then daytona) pinion supports. My geuss is they are pretty thin and would heat up after long use? Hell 20 years and no problems I'm sold thanks for the help. I would get a iron piece but if I'm going to get an aluminum carrier iron would be kinda lame?

Alex, sorry to be a pest I am going to use the strange carrier for sure, but by standard support, did you mean standard bearing size aluminum, or standard iron support that came stock? I'm slow so sue me!
