Are 22"ers too small for a '66 stang? Want to get the reaction time about right to leave off the bottom bulb w/no delay box. Thanks,SteveW

YES.... 22's are way too small and silly looking, i use Moroso 5.50-15's and they are tiny enough 25". Staging a bit deeper is probably a better move.I'd say try it the way it is before making changes.

I'm afraid the 22" fronts are not going to be tall enough. With your 408 and transbrake it will go red leaving on the bottom bulb. I run a 26" on my 69. Still had to wait a bit after the bottom yellow came on or it would go red when I was footbraking. Delay box now, so I don't have that problem.Later, David Cole

26 inch tires fit the 65-66 cars the best Steve. 27 will barely clear, but kill my reaction time with a trans brake. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 US Class Nationals link

I run Hoosier 26x4.5 on the front of my car. Getting the reactime right off the bottom bulb wil take a little trial and error. Anything that's very fast will redlight off the bottom bulb, finding the correct spot to leave is the trick. I have always had to wait a little, even when the car wasnt running as fast.

Steve e-mail me. I have some "nice" used short Goodyear 27's for cheap money. You may want to consider them to save a few bucks. I just remembered how high your car is in the front and they will probably fit OK. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 US Class Nationals link
