i installed 4cyl springs on my 81 a while back. they are a couple of inches shorter than the v-8 springs that came in the car but are weaker and hopefully let the front come up a little better. i put 2 metal spring spacers in each one to raise my front back up. have i defeated my purpose by taking some of the stored energy out of them? would i be better off with a spacer either on top or under the spring. or would it work better with the car 2in lower on the front, using nothing. the prob i had with the v-8 springs was that it would start to rise and then drop back down and the rear tires would start spinning. have i confused you yet? any ideas? thanks

Mike, take the spacers out! If you really want to increase the front end hieght then put a taller tire on it. We put the 4 cyl springs on both Tony's car and our 89 GT convert with the 90/10 struts and the wieght transfer diference was fantastic. Lakewood 90/10 front struts will also raise your front end up about 1 inch.

ok the spacers are coming out. i dont really care how the front end height looks. in my feeble mind, i thought it might transfer weight better if the front started out higher. a taller tire seems to hurt my r/t. i hace 90/10s, c/e i think.
as always, thanks alex
