From what I under stand you can take the insides of a AOD-E with the 2.80 low gear and put it in the AOD.trany. I would like to do this. And then put it in a 68 fairlane formal roof. The rest of the combo is a mildly rot roded 351w, 2500 stall, and a 3.73 locker rear end. With this 2.80 low gear will there be to much torq multiplication and blow the tires away or would it be a good compromise for a steet/ stip car. Any input would be much appreciated. Richard

Good decision. Difficult to do without tools and knowledge of AOD though. We did that to our AOD 5 or 6 years ago with 4.10 and loved it on the street. It now resides in a customers 90 5.0 GT and he is loving it also. Auto dog is now a Craparo killer.
(2500 converter doesn't hurt either )
