Hi-

The 1969 Mach 1 I just bought has a Edelbrock Performer 351w Intake, a Holley Street Avenger Carb and I believe it has stock heads and cam.

I was wondering what would be the best head/intake combo I could put on it, without touching the cam??

Is there anyway for me to find out what find out what head I have right now without pulling it out?? or finding out if the cam is stock or not??

Lastly, what kind of head can I get that dosen't need constant maintanece and adjusting??

Sorry if that's a lot of questions, but I really would like anyone's opinion. Thanks in advance.

you'll really limit power and the potential of any better heads by using the stock cam, if the cam has already been changed it should be confirmed exactly what one it is.

You can check lift by turning the engine over with the valve covers off, lifters bleed down some, but if the lift measures over .480" it isn't the stock cam. Duration can be checked with a degree wheel, in the car. Its a bit of a pain to do

Besides, you might wanna change the timing chain for a new one anyways.... so do the cam.

For heads... hmmm personal preferences rule there. I do know guys that like the AFR's and the Edelbrocks

The stock heads and cam have got to go! A Comp 282S cam and a pair of Edelbrock Performer RPM heads would really wake that sleeper up!
