One of my heads has two of the screw in core plugs leaking. What is the best way to seal them up? (without taking the head off if possible). Thanks Paul

Many of the sealers like Alumaseal will stick the thermostat but I've had great success with GM seal tabs stopping leaks and not causing other problems, they come on a card and there's about 4 or 6 in the pack. 2 of em do the job long term most times. ------------------ Moe! Spoke to the guys at the head reco shop. They said to use some Loctite 290. It Penetrates threads by capillary action (wicks).I'll give it a go. (you can also use it on carb adjusting screws) Paul

On the plugs themselves, nothing beats teflon tape. NOTHING! If you need to introduce an agent into the cooling system to stop the leak, the best product I have ever seen is KW Copper Coat Block Seal. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Part time secret agent license #0089 US Class Nationals link

Do not use K&W with antifreeze, it will clog everything. I didnt read the instructions ONCE. That is the block sealer not the rad sealer.
