I know that the Canfield heads have raised exhaust ports. Has anyone modified the engine compartment to accomodate the increased height in a 65 coupe? I was wondering if I could just modifiy the spring perches by cutting and welding a new peice or just reforming them (Like with a pipe and a 5 lb. sledge hammer. If anyone has done this before or have any ideas please let me know.

I believe they are raised a 1/2" like the TFS Street Heat heads I have. Basically if you have an inch of clearance now between the header and your floorpan/firewall all you will need to do is have the exhaust modified. If not you will need to cut the headers and have a good exhaust shop weld in a new piece to bring it down a bit. I had enough clearance in my 65.
