I'm am getting ready to rebuild my c4 tranny which has the stock 24-spline input shaft. Would this do fine in a occasionally driven 69 Mustang with a 400+ hp 351? Or should I spend the money and get a hardened 26-spline?

The 24 spline shaft will suit your needs fine. I used them until 1994 without one failure. I only switched to the 26 spline when I went to a trans brake.
