I have to choose between two C4 trannys. One has a more rounded bellhousing, the body flares up to the bellhousing; it has the dip stick in the pan, and has a tag: PEA C 289 6L 28 Is there actually any difference between C4s? Thanks, Dave

All you really care about is that the input shaft has 26 splines and that the bell housing will fit the block that you intend to use. Othewise the builder will use the "good" parts. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00 & '01 Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

Another C4 question is has anybody mated one to a FE block? Now I'm switching to a 390 now and was wondering if I could use the C4 that I have. The C4 is built heavy duty for drag racing . Roger

You can buy a FE bellhousing to fit a C4 case from JPT transmissions in Michigan. I don`t have the ph. #, but I`m sure Alex does.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker under construction, 302 5 speed
