I frequently spin my motor to 6400rpm and was wondering how well these rods will hold up? I have ARP rod bolts and they have been polished and shot peened.

In the recent past, prior to NHRA allowing aftermarket rods, I was spinning my 5/16 FoMoCo rods over 8000 RPM frequently with no breakage. It sounds as though you have done the correct prep work to yours and they should live happily ever after. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00 & '01 Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

I've got the same thing you got, coupe. I go to 6800rpm and have had no failures. ( I'm knocking on wood now!)

Mine see 7500 every pass, and I have never had a connecting rod failure. The rods that are in this motor, have well over 1000 passes on them. Anytime I have ever had a rod break, it was preceeded by a spun rod bearing. The only downfall to the stock rods is that they are heavy.
