Has any one tryed having one o Ford's aluminum dryshafts shortened? I got onexfrom a Ford Van and I need to shorten it 2" for my appilication. The ends do not look like there welded on more like sweged!

Call Denny's Driveshaft Service, these guys are the **** when it comes to this type of thing. You might actually find its cheaper to get a shaft custom made.

Some of the other late model driveshafts look "normal". I used a Crown Vicky fuzz car one, i recall it's somewhere near 54" to U Joint centers.
