Hi guys, After much help from you guys, I am revamping the induction on my 372C Heres the combo first: 4.03 bore 3.64 stroke 4V heads(manley megaflow valves, guides streamlined) 10.4:1 compression Isky 108LC 224/232 [email protected], 545/565 lift Isky springs etc, roller rockers This engine has never made the power I expected (for a mostly street engine). I have tried a Blue thunder dual plane (which I stupidly sold) and an offy dual port intake (just to see if it picks up the low end) both with a Edelbrock 750. Now I have a new 750DP annular carb. I also have a Torker, a performer and a borrowed Strip dominator to try. Do you guys think any of these intakes with the Holley will bump up the power??

Oh, I forgot to say that I have a set of the Roush port stuffers and a motorsports "Torker Style" A331 intake to try if I ever pull my heads off. The roush port stuffers fill in about .600 of the floor making it match the size and shape old SVO A3 heads, hence the A331 intake (A3 on a clev block). I think this is what I need to really boost the low end velocity (and the local head guy (former Bud Moore) agrees). I'll test the port stuffers on a bench first with a spare set of heads however before I do any epoxying...

I think it needs a little more cam and the Blue Thunder intake.... along with the Holley carb. Good Luck! ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367

I know I should have kept the Blue thunder!!! But I gotta use what I got right now. Maybe the torker with a plenum divider.... I already idles rough enough (9.5" vac @ 850RPM) that I wonder if Isky sent the wrong cam.....Hey I have that Crane solid lifter cam 108LC 238/248 dur, 565 or so lift sitting on the shelf...Somebody on forum runs this cam, and has more idle vacuum tahn I do. I have always thought the AFB carb I have is screwy though.... How much cam should I have for a car that has to run in Heavy (Charlotte traffic sucks) traffic, and may see some autocross? BTW 4 speed and 3.40 gears. I was thinking that 3.80 gears would pick up the low end (8" and I have an uninstalled 8" detroit locker).

I'd go with the gears/locker and the solid cam. Torker or Strip Dominator? I'd like to have a Strip Dominator. I used to have one, but in my stupidity, I sold it because I thought it was to big for my old mild engine. Now it'd love to have it back.

For Power, I'd install the Crane solid cam along with the Strip Dominator intake. For Charlotte traffic, I'd be tempted to keep the existing cam and install the Performer intake. You'll just have to decide which is more important... but I'd either go one way or the other. Trying to get both will only leave you with a mis-matched combo that won't really do anything right. An engine that size with a cam that small should have more vacuum than that. I'm confused... Have you spent any time adjusting the idle mixture screws? If the idle screws don't do much, that's a sign you have a problem. Have you looked for vacuum leaks? Is the power valve blown? Ditching the Blue Thunder intake for an Offenhauser Dual Port was a truly dumb move... but I'm sure plenty of others have already told you the same thing. The long awaited and many time delayed Holley/Weiand Strip Dominator reissue intake is due out before Christmas. That is my ONLY choice for that combination. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00 & '01 Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

I have tried all sorts of carb adjustments. I think the AFB may have a problem. A local chassis dyno guy says that some of the afb have a casting flaw or something that sort of acts like mine. I didn't trade the blue thunder for the Offy, I sold the blue thunder because I had the strip dominator..still stupid I guess. I really have to keep the Charlotte traffic in mind since I live IN town.
