I tried for three days the get the BG Road Demon to run on my 347. Extremely rich at idle, black smoke bad. I called Barry Grant and tried everthing they suggested. Turns out the Idle circuitry will not pass sufficient air, only fuel. As last resort they wanted me to drill out the air passages in the venturi area. I said no deal. I needed a carb today, I'm leaving for Atlanta tomorrow morning. You cannot buy a Holley in the city that makes them. No one carries anything other than the 1850. Any way, a relatively new company, Quick Fuel, is here in Bowling Green. I stopped there and found out that I new the owner, three ex-Holley designers and Engineers. Two hours later they had custom built a new 750 double pumper, guaranteed to work, and it did. So far. Talk about service, but it does come with a price. They use Pro-form bodies, their own design metering blocks and baseplates and the traditional Holley fuel bowls. I don't have their phone number handy, but will post when I get back Sunday.Mike
