I was at the track last night and was talking to a guy who said he just bought a pair of these. He told me the guy at Flowtechnologies said that it is the same as the old A-460 head....he paid $1800 for a bare set.------------------ Butch 460 powered 1967 Comet Cyclone 10.271 @ 130.069 Butcher's Home Page "Friends don't let friends drive Chevys"

$1800 bare seems a bit steep, seeing that blue thunders are several hundred less in the same state. Granted these will out flow the BT's by a good margin, but they will also require custom headers and manifold.------------------ Jay Kilroy 68' Fastback GT 390 "No such thing as a cam thats too big"

those heads look more like the C460's than A460's If you are trying to fit these into a car with shock towers that had stock heads the header flange pattern is the least of your worries, the engine becomes about 2" wider at the exhaust ports.

Should have known the header builder guy would sniff this out... ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/motorcitymustang/cmml/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367

Tom,
The fact that these heads use stock type stud rockers and a stock valve cover make them more similar to an "A" head...."C" heads require Jesel or T&D's and a fabricated valve cover. Headers and intakes make either head a pain in the a@@....no chance of using either one with the shock towers intact. I doubt I could get a chevy port Blue Thunder in my car with the tower there either. ------------------ Butch 460 powered 1967 Comet Cyclone 10.271 @ 130.069 Butcher's Home Page "Friends don't let friends drive Chevys"

So I talked to the guys that make these babies. Seems they got tired of waiting for TFS to make a new A460 batch so they made there own. It will bolt in place of a A460 but the chambers are different, more like the C's, and the ports, while in the same location, have some minor improvements. For all that are interested they are running a 'special' right now. $2900 will get you a complete pair, with 2.35 intakes, 1.88 exhaust, studs and springs, along with a stage one CNC port, bowl blend, and chamber polish. They are also doing there own intake for these heads that they claim gave them an instant 40hp on a A460 motor on a dyno. They are also building a 520 test mule for the combo. ------------------ Jay Kilroy 68' Fastback GT 390 "No such thing as a cam thats too big"

Well there are a few problems, 1. They are expensive. 2. The shock towers would have to go. 3. Three the headers would have to be custom. 4. The economy is in the ****ter. But, allowing for all of that, I will probably pick up a set, but it might be a year or more I can get them in the car. ------------------ Jay Kilroy 68' Fastback GT 390 "No such thing as a cam thats too big"
