Just by installing an electric fan on my 351c my ET went from 12.99@104 to 12.66@107!
Not a bad gain for just under $100US.

Flex-a-lite trimline #116. Its only 3 1/4" wide and it fit in the front so I can use it as a pusher.

Pretty cool. That works out to ~28 rwhp.

No other changes, right?

can believe it if it made the car run cooler and that was what it needed....skeptical that .3 was parasitic drag....what kind of fan was on it before you went with the electric unit? congrats getting 3 tenths...the quicker you go the harder that is to acomplish.

That was the only mod I made since running steady 12.99/13.00's. The fan I was running was a flex-a-lite plastic fan rated to 8000rpm. As for the cooling it kept the car at 170-180 all the time. Before the car would hit 190-195 in the staging lanes. But I have had many runs at 170-180 before the fan. I'm 100% convinced it was due to the electric fan.

Mechanical fans pull a ton or horsepower. It was a lot of ET but only 3 MPH though, so you are looking at just a little more HP but that's still great. Next try an electric fuel pump
