I got a call from the shop that is balancing the rotating assembly for my 347 today. He wanted to know if I had another harmonic balancer because the one I sent wobbled. I had sent a brand new C8ZE-6316-a, service replacement Hipo, never been on a crank before. I didn't question it alot, but I've never seen a new one be out of round or wobble front to rear as he stated, unless it was beat on or dropped. Any one else have this type of problem. I'm sending in a new SFI approved one to finish the job. Mike

Yes Mike, I have had a lot of trouble with the later (newer than 1982) produced OEM HIPO balancers. I just use the FRPP (FOrd Motorsports) units or SFI equivilants now. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00 & '01 Fleet of FoMoCo products Moneymaker Bio US Class Nationals link

Thanks Alex, I was ready to have a few choice words with the guy thats doing the balancing. This is the forth one I've had and never had any problems with other three. I did notice that this one was made in Brazil in 1997 and the rest of them were purchased in the 70's. I ended up with a Pro Race, with a removable weight, drilled for both 3 or 4 bolt pulleys. Made in Australia. Mike
