I'm currently using a Weiand X-cellerator low rise single plane manifold on my 351c 4v heads. I was wondering if switching to one of the manifolds above might help my low end torque (ie 60' times).

i think most any dual plane high rise in take would help your low end torque. the single plane will lower your low end torque i think. good luck---mike r--capri man

I only spin the motor to 6500, so the Blue Thunder might be the ticket. Now, to get one!![This message has been edited by 70coupe (edited 06-16-2001).]

I plan on getting a Blue thunder dual plane(good to 7K rpm). But if I already had the xcelerator single plane, I would try the plenum divider that weiand (now part of Holley) makes to boost the low end torque when this intake is used with an auto trans. They show part no. 7460 and 7461 (spacer plate with plenum divider). This would probably save you about $250 over the cost of the Blue thunder intake. You may be able to fabricate a plenum divider to try. Good luck and keep us posted. Tom

I don't think you will pick up much, if any, low end torque. The Blue Thunder would be the best bet of the three listed above for low end power production. I am currently running the blue thunder intake now, and have a strip dominator on the shelf. The blue thunder is a great looking intake! The only problem I have with it is that there is very little clearance between the intake and the MSD distributor in the car. If you decide to go for the Blue Thunder, be aware that there are three versions of it. One is flanged for a Dominator, the other two are flanged for a Holley, with the only difference being that one has the plenum divider lowered by an inch(4146). The 4145 has a notch in the diveder to help promote top end. BTW, I got mine through Coast High, @$350 including shipping. ------------------ 1991 F150, 4X4, lift, 35's, 4.9l 1991 Mustang LX 5.0L, AOD 1970 Cougar, 351C-4v, C6
