My old milder 351C liked a 2in. 4-hole carb spacer, ran it's best times with it. I still have it on my newer motor but now I wonder if it's slowing it down. This motor is 13to1 compression, roller cam 270/278 [email protected]
.682 lift, 4v closed chamber heads with high port plates on the exhaust side ( the real deal not the gasket with the toungs)! 5000 stall with a brake. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what would work best,no spacer,
1in. 2in. 4hole or open maybe you can save me some testing! Also carb is a 800db pump with milled choke horn and stub stack. I still have it set up for footbraking with big squirters and big pump cams, should I go back to stock stuff with the transbrake, since it's allready at 5000 when launching, my idea is the extra pump shot could cause it to be overly rich. One last question, I think it is probably under carburated and I plan on going to HP holley in the future,
question is what size 830,950 or 1000cfm,
down leg boosters or annular? Thanks! Roger

Roger,

Before my cleveland broke, I ran a strip dominator with a 1050 dominator on a 1 inch spacer! My heads were really redone big time so the need for the dominator and ran a 5500 tci stall.

As far as the HP goes I think a 950 would work well with your combination.

We used a one inch open spacer on the 351C with a Strip Dominator that we dynoed earlier this year. It seemed to like it better than a 4 hole.
