Hi Guys,
Do the 429 PI heads offer any real performance advantages over the D0VE or CJ heads?
What is a good set worth?

Those are still my favorite 385 series heads for a s&s or mild/hot motor with a hydraulic cam. I have always had great results with them. I have not seen any for less than $400 lately.

Do the PI heads have similiar port shapes to the CJ?
I seem to remember a CJ exhaust bolt pattern....

The PI heads have a little larger ports than passenger car heads (ie D0VE heads) but not as large as CJ/SCJ heads.

The PI's also have 2.19 and 1.72 valves. Watch out for some of the people on Ebay who are trying to sell C8VE and C9VE heads as police interceptors. The police interceptors should have a part number of D2OE-AB.
