Steel billet vs cast camshaft.Could we use a billet cam in our stock motor and would it be longer lasting? The look of the billet is so much better than the cast one. Is this a cost issue or something else? I know of the bronze dist gear. Hans.

Stock eliminator camshafts have very radical profiles with lobes that are almost square. They are very hard on lifters and must be broken in carefully. I have not had many cams go flat either, but I have had a few. (1 or 2). None were ever stock eliminator cams though as I am very cautious on lifter choice.

Alex,we are about to put new lifters on our old cam. Do you feel that the break in has to be done all over again? Aside from shubeck lifters is there a difference in quality between the others? We have used comp cams high bleed and crane anti pump-up. Both seems to hold up fine. Thanks for all your help .Do you sell parts to europe? Hans.

Hans, you are good to go with your new lifters on an old cam. We ship parts all over the world.
