Back in the mid to late 80's when Glidden and Elliot were kicking butt, there was alot of talk about Larry Widmer (Endyn)'s cylinder heads. Widmer claimed Glidden and Elliot was running his stuff, and they said his stuff was junk. Now that this has been 12-15 years ago, I was wondering if the truth ever actually came out? Endyn has a pretty neat little website that talks alot about his days working on 4V and Boss 429 heads: http://www.theoldone.com/about.html So...is this guy legit? ------------------

It would not shock me one bit to find out if a certain racer from Indiana had this guys head program killed. Glidden had a lot of stroke back when he was winning everything in site. There have been others that have come along with chassis and engine designs that have been ahead of there time. Look at Buddy Ingersoll's turbo V6 pro-stocker of the mid to late 80's. That man was kicking everyones *** , and was WAY ahead of his time, and look what happened to him. Just like NASCAR, as soon as you start to get ahead, RULE CHANGE! ------------------ Jay Kilroy 68' Fastback GT 390 "No such thing as a cam thats too big"

Isn't kind of interesting that there is mention of how they developed the new mopar heads but no mention of how everything was "destroyed" during the mysterious Wayne County shop break in???? ------------------ ----------------------- 64 Fairlane Hard top 289 4-speed

interesting stuff on that site! I knew Nick Arias was the original partner in AR but not that Bob Glidden bought in later. When i visited that shop in 85 (think it was) we were shown the blueprints for the first aluminum aftermarket small block heads (OK, first after 60's Gurneys!), these were labelled the "Bob Glidden Pro1" head and ended up being the Ford Motorsport J302 head. Alan Root had lotsa cool stuff there, like a Cobra kit with a rare 494" CanAm motor He had no facilities for casting so that was farmed out... actually come to think of it,we didn't see any signs of the Boss '9 heads being made... it must have all been farmed out. It was worth the detour to Ventura just to see the car and the blueprints
