I've been looking for an engine hoist all day. I can't believe how rare they are. Looks like none of the local parts places carry them.

There is one in the Amazon store, but shipping will be a killer. Might just have to bite the bullet though.

Most auto part stores these days are more likely to sell cashews and feminine products.

I've noticed that.

My last parts place visit went something like this:

Me: "I'd like to price some u-joints"

Parts Monkey: "Make and model?"

Me: (knowing it wouldn't help him)"81 F-100,2wd,460,auto"

Parts Monkey: "Ummm..."

Me: "Yeah, I know, no such thing, I just need u-joints."

Parts Monkey: "Where are the u-joints again?"

Nevermind.

I did find an engine hoist though at the local Farm King. I might pick up an impact tomorrow too.

A couple of local kragens (check partsamerica.com)carry them, most other should be able to get them shipped from their warehouse within a day or two... David F.

WTF do cashews have with auto parts stores. The local Advance has them also. Pi$$es me off as I love them and resent someone putting them right in front of me. So far, have not given in. Do not want to go to Cashews Anonymous

Haven't seen any feminine products....yet!ROTFLMAO!

Re the puller, why not rent one.

Well, I bought the impact today, but still looking for the cherrypicker. Seems the ad for the one at Farm King was a misprint, it was supposed to be an engine stand. I already have one of those.

You know, 5" tailpipe with 1 1/2" on the other end, pink wiper arm spoilers, underbody neon light kits, that sort of thing...

This may be a little late...

Do you have a Sams Club (and are you a member)? I picked up my engine puller and engine stand at Sams Club. They have served me well...

One warning... Some assembly required.

Thanks for the tips guys, but that's the great thing about living in Podunk,IA...we don't have any of those places.

You would think though, that with all these farmers around, you would be able to find something.

The bozo at AZ told me they couldn't get one.

That's what I get for not talking to my regular counter guy.

Maybe they don't know what that is?

Don't laugh, a few months ago I asked a guy at an Advance Auto if he carried fender covers, and he looked at me like I was nuts as I stood there among the cashews, Hot Wheels cars and pink wiper arm spoilers.
