I have a B-day coming within the next week...and the Parental Units have been bugging me about what I wanted?

The folks have never understood my car hobby regardless of the fact that I own 5 of them. I told them I could really use a nice Air Driven Orbital Dual Action (DA) Sander.

I have had my eye on various models...but seeing how I have only one car in need of sanding and painting. The top of the line Craftsman seemed like a logical choice.

The folks have evidently picked up on my Vibe for this need...and when I mentioned going out to buy it..I got the NO No No response from them.

I guess after nearly 44 years , they have finally picked up on what my likes and needs are.

I can't hardly wait till spring so I can get cracking on my 1968 Torino GT's paint and body work. Two layers of paint...and ugly paint at that , is not the answer for this classic beast.

I already own a few electric sanders..but Air equipment is so much more effective..espeially the DA Sanders.

My next purchase will be a small Jitter-Bug sander for flat areas...of course this will be an air tool as well.

My last sanding and paint project was my 1988 Crown Vic Police Package. Electric tools made this total sanding job very long and difficult...but well worth the end result. I still have scars from the underhood and drunk area re-enforcement areas.

Don't bother with a jitterbug, they leave the surface wavy & ruin the finish.
& get a Ingersoll Rand DA at the very least

Was Otis sleeping in the car?

I have an IRC315 straight line sander that I think works pretty good. Used it on the roof of a 68 coupe recently and I liked it a lot.

That should have read Trunk re-enforcements...and Otis was busy giving Barney diections to the liquor house. (LOL)

Today was my birthday...so the folks did spring the Craftsman DA Sander on me. I'm pleased with it...and I'm not one to stare a "Gift-Horse" in the mouth. As soon as the weather breaks for this season...its Hi Ho Hi Ho a sanding I will go.
